The PTA is an organization that provides educational and enriching programs and services for all children at Red Oak School and offers support to teachers and staff. Volunteering for the PTA is an excellent way for parents to become involved in their child’s school and their education. It is also an opportunity to meet new friends and neighbors. There are many ways you can support the PTA—volunteering to help serve lunch on Food Days, joining a committee, working in the library, donating time or money. We welcome your involvement in any way you can!
Below are some examples of events and items that the Red Oak PTA has provided in the past:
- Provide for school assemblies, author visits and field trips
- Fulfill teacher wish lists and provide for many new books in the library
- Organize family events such as Welcome Back event, Bingo Night, Skate Night and Spring Dance
Membership dues are only $15 per family. This covers the cost to print the Buzz Book and fees that the PTA incurs. With your PTA membership, you will receive a complimentary copy of the buzz book.
We encourage you to attend our PTA meetings which alternate between evenings and afternoons. A list of those meeting dates and times will be published in our bi-weekly newsletter and are on the calendar on this site.
Families are also encouraged to attend the variety of fun events we host throughout the year. These events are not only fun but they help raise funds for our school. Information about all of the Red Oak PTA events will be published in the newsletter, posted on the PTA website and communicated via emails.
We look forward to a fantastic 2011 – 2012 school year!
